Home Services with Benefits

When it comes to caring for someone you love at home, it’s not always easy to know what to do. And it’s not always easy to know what’s available to assist you and make it easier for both of you.

Hallmark Home Health provides many services to make caregiving and nursing in the home easier on you and your loved one. As a matter of fact, home health care is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), almost five (5) million patients receive home care each year.

Medicare may cover home health services if a doctor certifies the person requires intermittent skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or other services. This can offer lots of help for you and plenty of benefits for your loved one.

Some Medicare considerations to consider for home health providers include:

  1. Patient must be under the care of a doctor and have a current plan of care.
  2. The doctor certifies the patient needs one of these four services: intermittent skilled nursing, care, physical therapy, speech-language services, and/or occupational therapy.
  3. The home health agency is Medicare certified.
  4. The doctor certifies the patient is home-bound due to the condition.

Once the patient is eligible, Medicare may also cover medical social services and medical supplies needed as part of the care when prescribed by the doctor.
